Frequently asked questions
- 01Topsoil is a mixture of sand and soil. Triple mix is sand, soil, and compost.
- 02Under Ontario Pesticide bans, we can do no more to control weed seed populations than you. Even “so-called” weed-free soil is treated with toxic chemicals and is not immune to air-born weed seeds.
- 03Triple mix / garden soil. It’s a mixture of sand, topsoil, and compost, which results in a nutrient-dense product.

- 05Yes. Both our yard and office are open to the public.
- 06Bulk materials require separate shipments. We do not have dividers. This results in 2 delivery charges. We can provide 1 delivery with multiple products in the cubic yard bags

- 095/8” white is the most popular stone. It is mixed with limestone screenings and creates a solid base. Also 5/8 Granite for those who like a darker coloured aggregate
- 10No, delivery charges are extra and contingent upon where you live.

- 12We endeavor to deliver the same day, but in busy times, we prefer to have one day’s notice.
- 13We deliver from Owen Sound to Flesherton in the west and all areas in between. To the east, we deliver to Collingwood. To the south, Feversham and Maxwell. (caveat: daily deliveries to locations far may not be available during our busy season, and may require a minimum quantity)

- 19HPB
- 20High Performance base, it’s a clear chip stone that has 80% compaction rate, just dumped in place. With compaction it will be much higher. It is a clear stone, so it provides proper drainage, it is a material that most engineers spec for, and most stone manufactures suggest this product only for installing paver on.
- 21Topsoil and ploughmans compost mixed at a ratio of 1:1, we can mix these 2 products together for delivery if asked.
- 225/8 white limestone or 5/8 granite, they both have screenings and gravel which makes it best for compacting, wont track the “fines” as much and wont spread all over the place.
- 23¾ black granite, pea stone, river rock and we can order a variety of polished pebbles in numerous colours and we can get fire glass in different colours too.
- 24It is used to separate layers of material like gravel and organic material while still providing drainage.
