Topsoil is screened soil that is used for grading before sod is installed and topdressing for lawn areas. Triple mix is garden soil. It’s a mixture of screened topsoil, compost and sand, which results in a nutrient-dense product for gardens. Zwart’s Black Gold is our custom mix of screened soil, Ploughman’s compost and coarse sand blended to create the perfect soil for growing vegetables or garden plants. Ploughman’s Mix is composted manure used to boost the nutrient content of your garden soil.

Under Ontario Pesticide bans, we can do no more to control weed seed populations than you. Even “so-called” weed-free soil is treated with toxic chemicals and is not immune to air-born weed seeds.

Yes. Both our yard and office are open to the public.

Bulk materials require separate shipments. We do not have dividers. This results in 2 delivery charges. We can provide 1 delivery with multiple products in the cubic yard bags

5/8” white is the most popular stone. It is mixed with limestone screenings and creates a solid base. Also 5/8 Granite for those who like a darker coloured aggregate

No, delivery charges are extra and contingent upon where you live.

One cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, or approximately 8-10 wheel barrels full. Refer to our Cubic Yard Calculator for accurate quantities. You can always use our cubic yard calculator.

We endeavor to deliver the same day, but in busy times, we prefer to have one day’s notice.

We deliver from Owen Sound to Flesherton in the west and all areas in between. To the east, we deliver to Collingwood. To the south, Feversham and Maxwell. (caveat: daily deliveries to locations far may not be available during our busy season, and may require a minimum quantity)

HPB

High Performance base, it’s a clear chip stone that has 80% compaction rate, just dumped in place. With compaction it will be much higher. It is a clear stone, so it provides proper drainage, it is a material that most engineers spec for, and most stone manufactures suggest this product only for installing paver on.

¾ black granite, pea stone, river rock and we can order a variety of polished pebbles in numerous colours and we can get fire glass in different colours too.

It is used to separate layers of material like gravel and organic material while still providing drainage.
